The Cavesson or sometimes just called Noseband is a piece of equipment that is commonly placed under a Western bridle. It is used to help the horse to relax its jaw muscles without opening its mouth wide, where it could avoid your signals.
If fitted correctly the horse can still open its mouth without gapping.
The Cavesson should sit two fingers under the horses cheekbones, with about a hand-wide space between bit and noseband to avoid any nipping between bit and noseband. You should also be able to fit two fingers under, to ensure a relaxed fit.
This unisex rope Cavesson fits most horses with its adjustable size ranging from 61cm, 54cm and 49cm in nose circumference. The neck hanger is light and adjustable in size as well to fit horses from Pony to Fullsize.
If your horses nose is larger than 60cm in its circumference, two fingers under their cheekbone, get in touch for a custom size.
